Website Design Changes
Here we are again. I am ready to change the design of the site.
It seams as though the longest running design was the mac theme I did about two years ago. it lasted about 6 months ![]()
Right now I am in the conception stage of the design and have mocked up two models.
The first model is a fluid width with three columns, the main part of this theme is the banner that I hoped to take some High Quality Panoramics with Jess and Daniel in various locations.

The second design is a fixed with and is more Web 2.0
with rounded corners and sectioned material. This one also has a darker look than I anticipated due to the comments from @morgan_griffith. The main feature of this theme is the selectable header that will feature Myself, Jess, and Daniel… I may add more content later but for now just us.

Let me know what you think about both designs in the comments… Don’t hold back either.

The colors in the second seem very disjointed, especially the blue of the DLB on the dark grey. The palette in the first design seems more cohesive internally, though I’m a little suspicious of putting those cool and bold blues alongside dominant headline pictures that are mainly very natural greens and browns. The type treatment in the first design is much more legible and pleasing. Overall, the first design seems much more personal and inviting; it feels like a real person exposing a part of himself. The second just kinda looks like a web app.
Why thank you Rex for your comments.
I do like the first one but it looks like an older style. In the second design I was shooting for a more modern look ‘web 2.0′. The header in the first design would change as the pictures changed providing a fluid look. I did try a brown for the text color but it did not seem to look right. I will play with this some more.
I must say that before reading your comments I was leading towards the second design. I do think I may have went a bit too dark or too blue with the colors but I liked the uniqueness of it. I am now leaning towards the first one as it is simpler and I agree that it is homier.
Thanks again for your comments.
