The Best Mountain Dew Advertisement Ever in my opinion

yesterday was so nice outside we decided to let the kids burn off some steam. Daniel's friend Ayana (Yawny) decided to join in on the fun as well. I decided to snap a few photos while I was out there. It was good for me to get some fresh air as well since I have been cooped up in the house since last Friday.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Pumpkin carving and general fun

This weekend was a ton of fun. Saturday we invited my mom and sister over for some pumpkin carving, we do this every year and we normally do a lunch, dinner, or lupper along with cake and other festive treats followed by the pumpkin carving, and general goofiness.

This has become a great tradition now that we all have kids. Even our neighbor joined in on the fun. I truly enjoy just getting some time to hang out with them and teach the young ones how to carve up a pumpkin.

Sunday we decided to skip church since my mom was willing to watch the kids and allow me and the wife to have a date afternoon. It was a great time. Me and Jess never get to spend time away from the kids and although we love them to peices, having a moment to sit and enjoy a meal with your partner in life is a precious thing. However, you’ll probably laugh, we took our date at Chili’s and then went to Sam’s club to do the weeks grocery shopping :)

Enjoy the photos.

So this weekend is my wife’s birthday and as a treat we all decided to go to Floyd, Va. Me and my wife met in floyd and always love to visit as it is such a unique little town right off the blue ridge parkway. The weekend has gone great, cool weather, lots of space and a ton of family time. Enjoy the photos below. A Great PhotoShoot

Recently my family (Mom, Sister, Nephew, Brother-In-Law, my Wife, and both of my Boys) went to Burlington because my Mother got a deal at O’lan Mills and wanted a christmas picture of us all. We travled almost an hour to a K-Mart and tried to get all the boys to sit still for awhile… impossible. It was fun but also nerve-wracking. So when my wife decided that we needed to do something similar for our christmas pictures I refused. I have all the equipment needed to take studio quality pictures and don’t need to travel to get everybody to the set.

So we setup a day that we thought would be comfortable for everyone and did it.
I setup a green-screen and two super-bright lights with diffusers I then set everyone in front of the camera and the outcome was great. We got a lot of good photos, there was still some stress but nothing like the traveling was.

The one thing I would like to sum this all up with is that the equipment I had cost around $1,200 (not including laptop or editing software) the cost of an olan mills photo with digital rights is about $400 for one photo and I dare say that the outcome of my photos might be better. Don’t be scared to do it yourself.

Enjoy the pictures below.

This seems exactly like the kodak patent. Kodak patented a way to view photos taken on a screen which is commonplace and a required feature on every camera device. Almost all camera companies pay some royalty to Kodak for use of this technology. This doesn’t seem odd to me as five years ago a newsfeed was not a common item and social media was barely beginning. I think it is smart of Facebook to do this and will ensure their longevity in the marketplace
