Just Shutup and go to CarMax
Today me and the wife finally put an end to the constant problems we were having with our 08 town and country.
Back in May we bought an 08 Town and Country with very low miles and it was all decked out, power everything, navigation, leather… you get the idea. We lovd it and it was in our price range.
About a week after we brought it home we had non-stop problems with it. Check engine lights, tire pressure monitoring problems, doors jamming, seats jamming, and finally the sunroof started leaking. Since we had bought the car from Carmax I started to communicate to them through the store and twitter. They were so helpfull and after replacing the computer they said if you have any more trouble we’ll buy the car back from you and they did just that.
So last sunday me and the wife set out to find a car that will hold 6 ppl comfortably and within the same price range. I was looking to get all of those features back but since the wife is the one who drives it day in and out I decided it was best to just let her pick the car she liked and felt comfortable with. All in all we looked at about 7-10 cars, she liked some I liked others, and we settled on a 2011 Kia Sedona. It had very low miles, was brand new, but had very few features. So we bought it, added a DVD Player to it and now everybody is happy. Take a look at the pictures below.

Cheating on winter

This weekend was perfect >60° weather, sunny with a light breeze. It felt so wrong playing outside after having a snow shower less than a week ago.
Jess’ family came down to visit and that is always a lot of fun. They have two bright and wonderful girls that Daniel loves to play with. You can read about her family from her Mom’s blog http://merryheartcrafts.com/ Anyway we had great food and lot’s of outdoor time. We even washed all of our vehicles. I even felt better as I have been fighting a sinus infection for about 2 weeks now. But that changed. Daniel started to get sick on Saturday and Jess on Sunday. It started out as what just felt like a tickley throat but now is a full blown chest cold with fever. I feel like I stepped back about two weeks and am starting this sinus thing all over again. As I drove to Walmart this morning at 5AM to get Daniel a new thermometer it started to rain… What a way to start a Monday…At least we had the weekend.

My Wife’s New Blog
Finally,
The other day me and the wife were sitting on the porch talking and she confessed to me that she has been wanting a blog.
I asked why she wanted a blog to try and narrow down what I could setup for her. She said she needed a creative outlet since she had not had the time to scrapbook or paint or even doodle since Daniel had arrived. So excitedly I began checking names out on Godaddy to see what suited her. After about 30 variations we decided on onesouthernmom.com… why is it not hotlinked you might ask… just keep reading
So with the domain name squared away I set out after Daniel went to sleep and configured the server setup the databases and configured wordpress for her use. I did all of this while she was in the shower… When she got out I showed her all of this and she asked what about southernmama.com I checked and it was available… so now I set out to start over again. After about 15 more minutes I was ready to surf for themes and setup categories.
We spent the next hour or so rifalling through various themes of coffee, parchment, and finally decided on nap from http://web2feel.com/.
I then showed her to write post, pages, and links and now she is off and running.
I am so proud of her and how she is embracing this whole new aspect.

Pink Socks
The other morning I believe my life came full circle. I was getting ready for a regular Monday… I had already showered and checked the weather on my IPhone. I saw that the high for the day was in the 70′s and decided to wear shorts. I also noticed the time and realized that I was about 15 minutes late. So I kissed the boy and the wife threw on my clothes and ran out to the car. I always get up before dawn so I didn’t realize until I was on my way to first meeting of the day that I had on two socks that must have been in the wash with a very friendly RED shirt.
For the men that don’t wash clothes a peculiar thing happens when a red shirt and a pair of white socks hit the water together… PINK SOCKS!
Now, I know what it feels like to be a father of one and 1/2, husband, provider of all, handyman, spider-killer, and wearer of Pink Socks in a multi-billion dollar industry meeting.
