Memorial Day & Server Cabinet

May 28, 2008   //   by David Bates   //   Life Stories  //  No Comments

Hope everyones Memorial weekend was as peaceful and restoring as mine was.
We took of to the mountains to visit relatives and had a relaxing weekend full of fishing, sleeping, and building.

The building part is something that I have been wanting to do for quite some time now. My server cabinet has been a long awaited addition to my house as I have several rack-mountable pieces of equipment but have not been able to utilize them as I couldn’t afford a rack to put them in. The wife and I have also had the need for a good sized desk so that she could have a place to work on the various crafts that she does and I needed a place to work on my school-work and various computer related hobbies that I do. The design of my server cabinet/desk is supposed to take care of both needs.

The fishing was mostly done by my sisters and there father while I sat on the ground with my dude for some much needed “daddy time”. He seamed to enjoy the weekend as well and we all got a little tan.

Enjoy the pics:

Product Warning! Suave Dragonfruit 2in1 Shampoo Plus Conditioner for Kids

May 17, 2008   //   by David Bates   //   All About Daniel, Life Stories  //  6 Comments

WARNING!
Me and the wife just got the baby to sleep after he had a bath. We had just bought the Suave Dragonfruit 2in1 Shampoo Plus Conditioner for Kids and when we tried it he started crying furiously. I quickly rinsed it off but the damage had already been done. He recieved several burns to his scalp and left eye. I would advise not to buy this product, and if you have return it at once. It is not worth the risk, see for yourself.

We contacted Suave and gave them the lot # etc of the shampoo.

BTW, the marks around his chin are from slob.

We will be switching back to Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Shampoo, it is $6 more a bottle but worth it if the cheaper shampoos will burn my baby.

Today I broke my own record. I worked on 8 machines at one time all from remote sessions and even one in the UK.

This may not seem like much but all of the machines where taxed so I was still waiting on them.

Just thought I would share.
